Airports of the world: Adler/Sochi Airport

The Adler/Sochi airport, opened in 1956, is located in the Adler district of the Russian city of Sochi. With around 1.5 million passengers per year, it is one of the ten biggest airports in Russia. At the moment the airport in Sochi is growing in importance because of the 2014 Winter Olympics, which will be held in Sochi from 7th to 23rd February.

New Terminal at the London Heathrow Airport

The new terminal 2 at the Heathrow Airport in London opens on the 4th June 2014. The regally named, “Queen’s Terminal“ will be home to airlines like Virgin Atlantic and Aer Lingus, who will be responsible for mostly domestic flights.

Lufthansa: Restrictions on Spanish flights due to strikes

Emirates introduces flights from Dubai to Tokyo Haneda

Emirates added Tokyo’s Haneda Airport to its route network as of June 3rd. After Osaka and Tokyo Narita, this is the airline’s third destination in the East Asia route network. The island nation will now be accessible from Frankfurt via Dubai three times a day.
